Fair pay for public servants

ALTHOUGH THE Legislature and Governor Patrick authorized the creation of a special commission on salaries last year, political leaders backed away from its recommendations this week, before they were even released. While they are squeamish about taking action this election year, the recommendations are sound, especially those involving judges' pay.
